Pasay bar raided for allegedly selling balloons with laughing gas
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has raided a bar in Pasay City alleged to be selling balloons with nitrous oxide or “laughing gas” to customers, said to be mostly foreign patrons.
During the raid by operatives of the NBI Anti-Organized and Transnational Crime Division, they found a number of customers—said to be Vietnamese nationals—using the balloons. Six tanks of nitrous oxide were also recovered from the premises.
Nitrous oxide or laughing gas is used in the medical field as a sedative but is also used by some for recreation.
For their part, employees of the bar said they did not know that sale of the gas for such purposes is illegal as they were able to source it from a medical supplier. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA Integrated News
