Awra Briguela released from police custody after posting bail
Actress Awra Briguela was released from police custody on Saturday night after posting bail on charges stemming from her involvement in a brawl in Makati City on Thursday.
According to a document seen by GMA Integrated News, Awra was granted a release order by Executive Judge Gina Bibat-Palamos of the Makati Regional Trial Court after posting bail of P6,000.
The 19-year-old is facing charges of slight physical injuries and simple disobedience to a person in authority.
Awra was taken to a police station in Makati after she got into an altercation with another customer outside The Bolthole Bar in Poblacion.
The complainant said Awra wanted him to take off his pants. He said Awra got upset when he refused.
His group left the bar, and bouncers were seen in a video trying to restrain Awra from going after them.
The next scene was the scuffle between the two groups outside the bar.
The police arrived, and after the fight was broken up, they arrested Awra.
Police Colonel Edward Cutiyog, chief of the Makati City Police, said policemen tried talking to Awra but were met with expletives and didn't follow the authorities.
She was then brought to the police station.
Awra's friend said the actress only tried to defend her after being touched inappropriately by a man, but the bar's bouncer claimed that no sexual harassment took place. —Sherylin Untalan/VBL, GMA Integrated News
