Awra Briguela wanted him to take off clothes, complainant says


Awra Briguela wanted one of the men at the Poblacion bar to take off his pants and became angry when he refused, the complainant has said.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras", Makati police said no one has come forward to file a complaint as regards allegations that Awra defended one of her companions who was allegedly groped at the restaurant.

CCTV footage showed that around 5 a.m. on Thursday, Awra's companions leaving the establishment and even exchanging fist bumps with the complainant's group.

However, was seen talking to the complainant, who eventually took off his shirt.

The complainant said Awra wanted him to take off his pants. He said Awra got upset when he refused.

His group left the bar and bouncers were seen in the video trying to restrain Awra from going after them.

The next scene was the scuffle between the two groups outside the bar.

Police arrived and after the fight was broken up arrested Awra.

Police Col. Edward Cutiyog, chief of the Makati Police Station, said policemen tried talking to Awra but were met with expletives and didn't follow the authorities.

She was then brought to the police station.

As regards social media posts about alleged groping against one of Awra's companions, Cutiyog there is still no complaint filed over the alleged harassment.

GMA Integrated News tried to get Awra's comment but she refused to give any. The lawyer who assisted her also had no comment.

The LGBT group Bahaghari called the complainant's allegations a "self-serving testimony." —NB, GMA Integrated News
