Fake PWD IDs being sold in Manila; 2 suspects arrested


Two people were arrested in Tondo, Manila for making and selling fake Persons With Disability (PWD) IDs, according to Darlene Cay's report on Unang Balita on Friday. 

The suspects were identified as Ralph Lawrence Noblada and Liezel Lopez who were nabbed in an entrapment operation of the Manila Police District Special Mayor Reaction Team (MPD SMART).

Recovered in the home of the suspects are the computer and printer being used to make the fake PWD IDs. The template for the PWD ID was also discovered on their computer.

According to the report, the fake PWD IDs are being sold for P1,500 and anyone can purchase it online. 

"Kung titignan niyo yung fake ID at iyon [totoo], almost the same. Hindi mo siya mapagkakamalang hindi totoo," said Police Major Dave Garcia, chief of MPD SMART.

PWD IDs are used to avail discounts on food, medicine, and services. 

The suspects did not give any statements. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
