Helpers nabbed for killing employer after using victim’s ATM card

The National Bureau of Investigation has arrested two household helpers after they were seen on CCTV withdrawing cash from an ATM using the bank card of their slain employer.

According to John Consulta's report on "24 Oras", another helper had been arrested for the killing of 84-year-old Noemi Dacuycuy at her home in BF Homes Las Piñas on May 4.

Investigation showed that she was hit on the head thrice and was strangled to death.

Her loved ones, however, grew suspicious after a withdrawal was made using the victim's ATM card.

The NBI checked CCTV footage and saw the two other helpers—Rovielyn Canete and Julianne Navarro—leaving the victim's residence on May 4.

They were also seen getting money from an ATM. It was found out that they used the victim's cash card.

With the evidence, the NBI invited the two to a reenactment of the crime at the victim's home.

During the investigation, the two pointed to each other as the person behind the killing.

It was also found out that they set up the other helper by using the phone of the victim to make it appear that it was he who killed her. —NB, GMA Integrated News
