Makati LGU launches mobile library
The local government of Makati City launched a mobile library that aims to provide access to learning materials and research services to students in the city.
“The Makati Mobile Library is a testament to our commitment to providing quality education in the city. By making books and educational materials easily accessible, we hope to inspire a love for reading and learning,” Mayor Abby Binay said in a press release issued on Monday.
“We want to make sure that all our students are equipped with the right basic knowledge before proceeding to the next grade level,” Binay added.
She said the mobile library, launched at the Makati Elementary School, was part of the city's effort to meet its basic reading, writing, and arithmetic proficiency targets.
Binay said each mobile library had reading materials, smart TVs, laptops, and various learning materials on English, Filipino, Social Studies, and Literature.
She added that teachers and volunteers would be stationed with the mobile library to assist the student residents of Makati City.
Binay said the mobile library would follow a rotating schedule in different barangays in the city to ensure that each and every resident would be accommodated.
Binay had earlier launched Project FEED, which provides students free nutritious and delicious snacks and drinks on school days. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
