Saleslady, live-in partner nabbed for ‘fake robbery’ at jewelry shop
A saleslady at a jewelry store and her live-in partner have been arrested for allegedly working together to steal jewelry estimated to be worth P9 million.
According to Oscar Oida's report on "State of the Nation", the weapon used in the incident was a toy gun.
CCTV footage showed a man with a helmet on pulling out what looked like a gun. The watcher appeared to have had no choice but to place all the jewelry in the suspect's bag.
Police believed that the incident was "fake."
"Nangyari ang insidente alas-9, ni-report niya sa authorities 10:30 at kung mapapansin din natin doon sa location niya, maraming tao doon pero hindi siya humingi agad ng tulong," Manila Police District spokesman Police Maj. Philipp Ines.
The suspect and the sales clerk, who was later found to be his live-in partner, have been arrested.
They refused to comment on the allegations against them. —NB, GMA Integrated News
