QC library offers free online Japanese language classes

The Quezon City Public Library (QCPL) is now offering free Japanese courses online in partnership with an education consultancy firm.

According to Tina Panganiban-Perez’s report on “24 Oras” on Monday, the city library partnered with Jellyfish Education Philippines to provide free virtual Nihonggo classes to the public.

“Three hours lang po siya per session. So it’s more of the basics lang talaga ng Japanese language,” said Jellyfish Education Marketing Head Venia Diolata, adding that there will be one session provided every month and it may be joined by 100 to 500 participants.

(Each session is three hours long. It’s more of a basic Japanese Language course.)

“If gusto niyo every month mag-join kayo, as long as nakapag-register kayo and nakapasok kayo sa meeting room, then that’s okay po,” she said.

(If you want to join every month, that’s fine. As long as you are registered and in the meeting room.)

Interested participants may visit the QCPL’s Facebook page for the details of the registration. The library management, however, said that the slots for 2023 are full but there are still available slots for 2024.

“Dinumog kumbaga sa layman’s term...nakapag-accommodate na po tayo ng 13,000 participants na distributed from April to December,” QCPL Officer-in-Charge Mariza Chico said.

(Many people availed of the offer. We already accommodated 13,000 participants distributed from April to December.)

The QCPL previously offered Spanish lessons and is eyeing to provide free Korean Language courses soon. -- Sundy Locus/BAP, GMA Integrated News
