Bus trips to provinces fully booked for Holy Week

Despite announcements that bus trips to the provinces are fully booked, several passengers still took the chance to get tickets at various Metro Manila bus terminals.

According to Oscar Oida's report on "24 Oras," the Paranaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) recorded 56,943 foot traffic as of 2 p.m. Wednesday.

The terminal's management said travelers bound for Bicol will have to board the ordinary buses, while those going to Davao should secure the limited seats available.

PITX said it is ready to deploy more busses if needed as it will remain operational on Maundy Thursday until Easter Sunday (April 6 to 9).

"Based on what happened yesterday, may mga passengers na unfortunately na-stuck due to limited supply. We have anticipated that as well and we've coordinated with the bus company only in the event na may maiwan na passengers today, we will help them get their trips tomorrow," said Ralph Gilbert Binos, director for Terminal Operations.

Meanwhile, most trips are also fully booked in bus stations in Quezon City. Still, there are passengers trying to get tickets to go home to their  provinces.

“Kasi kahapon busy kasi kahapon wala na mga fully booked na. Ngayon lang kami nakaano ng ticket ngayon lang available na ticket kasi iyong mga night trip fully booked iyong mga 11 at 12 yun ang bakante,” said Patty Limbauan, a passenger.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
