Provincial buses allowed at EDSA terminals only from April 3-5, MMDA says
Provincial buses are only allowed to use terminals in Cubao, Quezon City and in Pasay City from April 3 to 5 but they are still prohibited from plying EDSA, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Monday.
Interviewed on Unang Balita, MMDA acting chairperson Romando Artes said provincial buses are allowed at terminals from 10 p.m. to 5 p.m. only.
“Pero pinagbabawal po natin yung pagtawid. Kung galing kang norte, hanggang Cubao lamang, hindi ka puwedeng mag-terminal sa Pasay,” he said.
(But we prohibited bus terminals from crossing EDSA. If they are coming from the north, they are allowed up to Cubao only , they cannot use the terminal in Pasay.)
“At yung galing naman pong mga south, hanggang PITX (Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange) o Pasay lamang ang puwede pong payagan na kanilang puntahan o terminal na gamitin,” he added.
(Provincial buses coming from the south are allowed up to PITX or they can only use the terminal in Pasay.)
From April 6 to 10, provincial buses are allowed to enter and exit through EDSA at any time, he added.
Meanwhile, Artes said the MMDA is studying to establish an elevated bikeway and walkway along EDSA as its plans to convert the existing bike lanes to exclusive motorcycle lanes in the major thoroughfare.
