Fruits 'for display', 'prutas na lagas' some cheaper choices for New Year's Eve

Prices in Divisoria of round fruits, those thought to bring good fortune in the coming New Year, have increased over the past few days.

According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "24 Oras", the prices of the fruits may even increase in just a matter of hours.

One vendor said those going for four pieces for P50 might go for just three for the same price as some warehouses have already closed.

One way to save cash on round fruits is to buy those with no more stems—those they call prutas na lagas.

A fruit package for display purposes on New Year's Eve is also being sold for P250.
