More than 8,000 employees of the Makati City Hall are expected to will receive up to P20,000 as Service Recognition Incentive (SRI) after the city council approved an ordinance for its funding, the city government has announced.

This developed after President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. signed on December 16 an administrative order, which authorized the SRI for government employees for the fiscal year 2022.

City Ordinance No. 2022-A-168, passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of Makati, then set aside P163,998,000.00 for the SRI.

In addition, 2,259 job order employees will be granted P5,000 as gratuity pay and 25 kilograms of rice assistance under City Ordinance Nos. 2022-A-168 and 2022-A-169.

The ordinance stipulates that an employee must occupy a casual, regular, or contractual position and is still in government service as of November 30, 2022.

The personnel must have rendered at least four months of satisfactory service, including services rendered under any alternative work arrangements prescribed by the Civil Service Commission.

An employee who has served less than four months is entitled to a pro-rated share of the SRI. For employees with three months but less than four months in service, 40 percent of the SRI; for two months but less than three months, 30 percent; for one month but less than two months, 20 percent; and 10 percent for employees less than one month in service. -NB, GMA Integrated News
