Simbang Gabi in NCR ‘generally peaceful’ –police
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) said Sunday the Simbang Gabi or Misa de Gallo in Metro Manila was generally peaceful with no significant incidents reported during the nine-day traditional activity.
The NCRPO’s comparative crime statistics showed there were only 100 index crime incidents recorded from December 16 to 24, 2022.
This was lower than the 154 recorded during the same period in 2021, and 190 in 2020.
In Mao dela Cruz's report on Super Radyo dzBB, NCRPO spokesperson Police Lieutenant Colonel Dexter Versola said they did not record any significant incidents within the periphery of all churches or parishes during the activity.
Also, all personnel, including force multipliers, maintained their alertness and performed their duties in line with their assigned tasks, he added.
The Simbang Gabi started on December 15 and ended on December 23. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
