Lechon prices in Quezon City up by P1,000
The prices of Lechon and Christmas ham sold in markets in different parts of the country has increased as the Holiday Season draws nearer, Jun Veneracion reported on “24 Oras” on Tuesday.
In La Loma, Quezon City current lechon prices were increased to around P1,000 compared to the price last year.
From P7,500 in 2021, one whole roasted pig now costs P8,500 and is expected to further surge to around P9,000 to P10,000. A kilo is now priced at around P1,200 to P1,500.
In Zamboanga, stores were forced to bring down prices of Lechon to P500 per kilo after sales decreased when it was sold at P600 per kilo last week.
Meanwhile, Christmas ham in a store in Mandaluyong City now costs between P1,400 per kilo and P5,800 for 3.5 kilos.
“Nagtataas talaga kami ng presyo…P40 lang naman kada kilo. Steady na ‘yun, di na magtataas,” a cashier of a store in Quiapo, Manila said.
