Greenhills night market reopens to Christmas shoppers

Christmas shoppers will have longer time to hunt for items with the opening of the night market in Greenhills in San Juan City.

According to a report by Tina Panganiban-Perez on "24 Oras," with the return of the market at the G-Strip open parking area,  more visitors are expected to show up.  Administrators of the shopping area target to double last year's foot traffic of 75,000 -100,000 people per day.

With this year's theme: "Merry moments," the public is encouraged to share happy times in the area with their families, friends, and loved ones, or even alone.

Visitors can explore various available food choices as they can also shop for clothes, decorations, and toys at very affordable prices.

Carnival rides are also available for children and those who are young at heart. There is also a live DJ every night to keep guests entertained.

Meanwhile, Ortigas Malls ensured that all customers are fully vaccinated, and wearing face masks is still encouraged. Security personnel and K-9 units are also present to ensure safety around the area.

"We cater to all category, like we have food. As you can see we also have local delicacies, local fashion here. We actually encourage our customers, same goes to our employees to always wear the mask, but at the same time, I'd like to assure the public that all of our employees are fully vaccinated already," said James Candelaria of the Greenhills Mall.

San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora earlier in the day conducted an inspection of the area.

The launch of the night market was capped by a  display of fireworks, which will also be an added treat to visitors every Saturday.  The night market is open everyday until January 8, 2023, from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA News
