Several cemeteries in Valenzuela City reopened their doors to the public on Sunday, October 30, 2022 for the early observance of All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

According to Jhomer Apresto’s report on Super Radyo dzBB, the city government decided to open the cemeteries as weather conditions continued to improve.

Cemeteries were opened at 11 a.m. They will be closed at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The Valenzuela local government unit earlier advised the public that all cemeteries, memorial parks and columbaria will be closed on Sunday, October 30, 2022, after Severe Tropical Storm Paeng caused flooding in many areas.

"Due to inclement weather caused by Severe Tropical Storm #PaengPH, ALL cemeteries, memorial park, and columbarium in Valenzuela City will remain CLOSED tomorrow, October 30, 2022. Everyone is advised to stay safe at home," the LGU said in its advisory posted on Facebook.

The LGU also said that on October 31 and Nov. 1, cemeteries will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

As per the advisory, children aged 11 years old and below are not allowed inside cemeteries.

Residents who have yet to complete their vaccines against COVID-19 were also encouraged not to go to the cemeteries. —Mel Matthew Doctor/KG, GMA News
