Vietnamese rescued from abusive Chinese employer

Authorities rescued a Vietnamese woman who was suffering from abuse from her Chinese national employer.

According to John Consulta’s report on “24 Oras” on Thursday, the Chinese national was seen in a video repeatedly hitting the 26-year-old woman using a wire of cellphone charger inside a condominium unit in Paranaque City.

The victim tried to protect herself using a pillow as she was hit on the face, body and thigh.

In another video, the suspect also hit the Vietnamese while lying on a sofa as one woman was seen watching.

The victim then tried to get up, but the suspect grabbed and pushed her.

Personnel of Southern Police District’s Special Operation Unit then intervened and rescued the victim.

They arrested two Chinese nationals who were inside the condominium during the operation.

According to the police, the victim used to work in Dubai. She was maltreated when she expressed her desire to return there.

“Nang atin siyang ipa-medical talaga naman kalunos-lunos ang kanyang sitwasyon dahil halos lahat ng parte ng katawan niya ay talagang may tama ng pananakit,” SPD director Police Brigadier General Kirby John Kraft said.

(Her situation was pitiful when we took her for the medical examination.  Almost every part of her body was bruised.)

“Ayon sa pahayag po ng ating biktima, nagtangka na mag-sexual advantage sa kanya itong kanyang amo,” he added.

(According to our victim's statement, her employer also tried to take advantage of her sexually.)

The suspects have been charged with serious illegal detention, serious physical injury, and acts of lasciviousness.
