Woman jumps from apartment to escape abusers in Pasay City

A woman jumped from an apartment building in Pasay City to flee from alleged abusers, according to Nico Waje’s “24 Oras” report on Friday.

As seen on CCTV footage, the woman jumped from the third floor of the apartment building in order to flee from a group of Chinese who allegedly kidnapped and raped her.

Authorities a few minutes later went to rescue her and another woman from the building.

The alleged victims were a Cambodian and a Vietnamese.

Investigation showed that the suspects were in an SUV going to the apartment but fled when they saw the residents talking to the victims.

“Nagview kami ng CCTV yun nga na-identify namin yung sasakyan na ito, na isa sa getaway vehicle ng suspect,” said Police Lieutenant Dennis Desalisa, chief of Pasay Police Investigation.

(We viewed the CCTV and we were able to identify this vehicle, which is one of the suspect's getaway vehicles.)

The arrested suspect was identified as Ning Yuanqiang, who was caught on CCTV leaving the apartment building and riding in a different vehicle.

The police said the victims applied as POGO (Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator) workers.

However, based on the investigation the suspects allegedly faked the job hiring.

“Meron siyang kasama nasa six to eight persons na nag-rape doon sa biktima,” Desalisa said.

(He had an six to eight persons companions who raped the victim there.)

Authorities confiscated illegal drugs and a gun from the suspect.

The suspect, however, denied the allegations.

He said he was innocent and asked that the victims be questioned regarding their allegations. —Richa Noriega/NB, GMA News
