P3.6M worth of illegal drugs seized in separate NCR buy-busts
Three buy-bust operations in Metro Manila have turned up illegal drugs worth a total of P3.6 million, according to the National Capital Region Police Office on Thursday.
In Manila, police arrested a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman on San Andres Street with 327 grams of suspected illegal drugs worth P2,536,000 and a loaded .38 revolver.
Meanwhile, the Northern Police District seized 165 grams of illegal drugs amounting to P1,122,000 from a buy-bust in Barangay 120, Caloocan City and another in Barangay Gen. T de Leon, Valenzuela City.
Six individuals were arrested and will face charges for violation of Sections 5, 26, and Section 11 of Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
“Our effective strategy to combat illegal drugs in the Metro does not enervate. We will continuously apprehend sellers and sources to totally eradicate drugs in our region,” NCRPO Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo said. — Richa Noriega/BM, GMA News
