One dead in fire that hit residential area in Makati City
A woman died in a fire that broke out in a residential area in Barangay Cembo in Makati City before dawn on Tuesday.
The victim had a heart attack during the incident, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Dobol B TV.
The fire started at 3 a.m. and affected some houses on J.P. Rizal Street in front of a ferry station at Pasig River.
A resident was injured as her hand was blown off during the incident.
Zone leader Carla Villalon said residents were sleeping when a blast occurred then fire spread.
The fire was placed under control past 4 a.m. and was finally put out shortly afterward, according to a report by Bam Alegre on GMA News' Unang Balita.
Ten families were rendered homeless by the fire incident.
The area has already been cordoned off by the local government.
The Bureau of Fire Protection meanwhile is still conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the fire. —KG, GMA News
