Dutch diplomat throws shade at ‘Mt. Kamuning’ footbridge on EDSA
A diplomat has criticized on Twitter the high pedestrian footbridge that goes over the MRT-3 rail and some cables on EDSA.
According to a report on "24 Oras", Consul General Dirk Janssen recently tweeted a photo of the footbridge with the following caption, “There is no better way to make it clear to pedestrians that they don’t matter.”
Janssen is posted at the consulate general in San Francisco in the US.
The has been dubbed as “Mt. Kamuning” and “Stairway to heaven” due to its height.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) admitted that the foot bridge was not suitable for persons with disabilities (PWDs) and senior citizens.
The agency, however, said the footbridge was created to avoid accidents in EDSA.
It also earlier said the footbridge had the correct size and distance from the MRT-3 that passes under it.
The MMDA said it also considered creating an underpass. —NB, GMA News
