Eleksyon 2022 winners in Valenzuela City proclaimed

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has proclaimed the winning officials of Valenzuela City, according to Corinne Catibayan's report on GMA News' Eleksyon 2022 coverage on Tuesday.

Deputy Speaker Wes Gatchalian will be the city's next mayor after garnering 275,650 votes, replacing his brother Rex who was proclaimed new District 1 representative with 141,794 votes.

District 2 Representative Eric Martinez, meanwhile, retained his post with 132,241 votes, as well as Vice Mayor Lorie Natividad-Borja with 257,530.

Elected District 1 councilors are Marlon Alejandrino, Ramon Encarnacion, Ricarr Enriquez, Cris Feliciano, Bimbo dela Cruz and Ghogo Lee.

On the other hand, elected District 2 councilors are Gerald Galang, Niña Lopez, Sel Sabino-Sy, Louie Nolasco, Mickey Pineda, and Chiqui Carreon.

Based on the City Board of Canvassers (CBOC), Valenzuela City registered a 79.09% voter turnout in Eleksyon 2022, higher than the 74.09% recorded during the 2019 midterm elections. —KBK, GMA News
