Defective SD cards delay casting of votes in Lagro Elementary School
Several registered voters who have lined up at Lagro Elementary School in Quezon City to cast their votes early Monday morning are still unable to do so because of the defective SD cards of vote counting machines or VCMs, GMA News' Katrina Son reported.
There are 40 registered voters who waited the whole day, for the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to replace the cards.
The voters, who are waiting at the school are the ones who made it to the 7 p.m. cut off time. They were also assigned numbers, which they can use once the replacement SD cards arrive.
There are a few senior citizens among them who patiently wait for the chance to feed their ballots into the VCMs themselves and prevent cheating.
The teachers were told Monday afternoon that the SD cards were being delivered to the school in Quezon City.
One VCM malfunctioned, which was assigned to the precinct with the most number of voters.
The number of votes may not have an effect on the outcome of the elections in Quezon City, but the voters would like to be able to cast their votes. -- BAP, GMA News
