Leni on mammoth Pasig crowd: Ito ba yung sinasabi nilang hakot crowd?

Faced with probably her most well-attended political rally so far and this time in Metro Manila, Vice President Leni Robredo on Sunday hit claims that those who attended her campaign had been bussed to the venues.

Organizers citing the Pasig PNP said an estimated 90,000 people attended the rally on Emerald Avenue.

The crowd reportedly stretched from Julia Vargas to Ortigas avenues.

Dubbed as ‘PasigLaban Para sa Tropa Pasig City People’s Rally’, the gathering is said to be the biggest crowd for Robredo since the start of the campaign period.

“Ito po ba ‘yung sinasabi nilang hakot lang? Kayo ba yung tinatawag nilang bayaran? Malinaw na malinaw naman na hindi kayo bayad," Robredo told the crowd.

Videos and photos posted in the social media showed that the street started to be filled with pink-wearing folk several hours before the start of the event at 4:30 p.m.

“Nakikita ko po kanina sa Facebook, sa Twitter, sa Instagram, umaga pa lang ang dami-dami niyo na. Nakita ko rin sa mga malls sa paligid na pinuno ng kakampinks," Robredo said.

One of the first well-attended rallies of the Robredo campaign was in General Trias in Cavite on March 5.

Cavite Representative Boying Remulla claimed in a radio interview that those who attended were paid P500 each.

He also said that there were activists in attendance and those trained by the communist National Democratic Front. —Mel Matthew Doctor/NB, GMA News
