UP Diliman’s Academic Oval, other public spaces to be closed from Jan. 10
The University of the Philippines on Sunday announced the closure of the Academic Oval and other public spaces in its Diliman campus starting January 10.
In a Facebook post, UP Diliman said the closure was due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country.
"Dahil sa biglaan at mabilis na pagtaas ng mga kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa, muling isasara ang Academic Oval at iba pang mga pampublikong espasyo sa UP Diliman simula Enero 10," it said.
(Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in the country, the Academic Oval and other public spaces in UP Diliman will be closed starting January 10.)

As of January 7, the positivity rate of the coronavirus in the capital region reached 50.5%, the first time it hit above 50%, OCTA Research said Sunday.
The positivity rate refers to the percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested.
