5 churches temporarily closed due to COVID-19, says Manila archdiocese
The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM) has reported that some parishes have been temporarily closed due to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
These churches are:
- National Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus (December 31, 2021 to January 14, 2022)
- National Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe (January 4 - 17, 2022)
- Santa Maria Goretti Parish (January 3 – 15, 2022)
- St. Anthony of Padua (January 4 until further notice)
- San Roque de Sampaloc Parish (January 4-7, 2022)
The closure was implemented after some priests and staff members of the above-mentioned parishes tested positive for COVID-19.
"The temporary closure," according to the reported posted on the RCAM website, "will also allow them to clean, sanitize and disinfect the surrounding of the parishes."
"Although closures of parishes were made because of COVID, the priests have assured the faithful that all Masses will continue to be live-streamed on the Facebook and YouTube Channel page of the parishes." -- BAP, GMA News
