Binay: Ospital ng Makati, MMC record zero COVID-19 cases
There are no more COVID-19 patients in the Ospital ng Makati after 54 suspected cases tested negative for the illness, the Makati City government announced Wednesday.
“Fortunately, they all tested negative after undergoing RT-PCR tests. Therefore, we have zero COVID cases at OsMak,” Makati Mayor Abby Binay said in a statement.
According to Binay, Osmak has not recorded any new COVID-19 case since November 24, after a 75-year-old patient was admitted to the hospital.
The patient was a critical case and succumbed to COVID-19 on December 3.
Meanwhile, MMC medical director Dr. Saturnino Javier said this was the hospital’s first time to have had no COVID-19 patients since March 2020.
Binay urged the public to remain vigilant amid the threat of the Omicron variant, a variant of concern that is likely to have a higher degree of transmissibility but is less severe.
“It may only be a matter of time before the Omicron variant makes its way to our country. We must continue to strictly observe public health standards like wearing face masks and keeping a one-meter distance from another person,” she said.
