77-year-old cyclist shows off stunts

While some senior citizens may not be physically active anymore, Conrado Magcalas still has the energy to pull off his bicycle stunts even at the age of 77.

According to Mark Salazar's "24 Oras" report, Magcalas has been performing professional cycling stunts since the 1960s. For 60 years, he has also been using the same bike, which has undergone but few repairs.

"Anyone can do my stunts as long as they practice," he said in Filipino.

Magcalas said he also has colleagues who taught him these stunts. Unfortunately, Magcalas said these fellow cyclists did not take care of their body.

"Maraming mas mahusay sa akin kaya lang 'di nila inaalagaan ang katawan nila, (There are cyclists who are better than me but they did not take care of their body)," said Magcalas.

But Magcalas did not survive on solely doing stunts as he took other jobs such as delivering movie reels at cinemas.

Currently, Magcalas said he is taking some sideline jobs but he continues to do stunts that impress tourists.

"Kapag nakikita ng turista, inaabutan ako, dahil natutuwa sila. Nagpapasalamat naman ako," Magcalas said.

(Whenever tourists would see me, they would give me cash because they are impressed. I thank them for doing so.)
