Palace: 94% of NCR's target population fully vaccinated
At least 94% of Metro Manila's eligible population are already fully vaccinated against COVID-19, the Palace said Tuesday.
Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles said that 9,193,744 million in the National Capital Region (NCR) are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of November 22.
This figure is 62,079 more than the November 19 figures of 9,131,665 million.
On the other hand, around 33 million Filipinos nationwide are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 so far which is still way behind the target of vaccinating around 80% of the country's 109 million population by May 9, 2022.
The government will hold a nationwide three-day vaccination event from November 29 to December 1 to ramp up its vaccination efforts.
The government is expecting to administer 15 million COVID-19 vaccine doses during this three-day period.
The Health department has said that the administration of booster doses for health workers and senior citizens will be allowed during the three-day vaccination event but the vaccination of the unvaccinated will still be prioritized.
National Task Force Against COVID-19 adviser and Dr. Ted Herbosa said Tuesday that 134 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered to the Philippines so far. -Llanesca T. Panti/NB, GMA News
