Retired US Air Force member arrested in drug raid in Quezon City

A retired US Air Force member was apprehended following a raid on a suspected drug laboratory in Quezon City, according to John Consulta’s 24 Oras Weekend report on Saturday.

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) armed with a search warrant carried out the operation, which led to the arrest of the suspect identified as Ramon Loarca.

Seized from his house were cocaine, liquid marijuana, shabu, party drugs, and kush, as well as assorted firearms and ammunition.

According to the NBI’s informant, the suspect had been mixing substances for years to develop a more potent drug for his clients.

“Investigation is still ongoing but because of the volume of the seizure, the chemicals and laboratory equipment, definitely he is the distributor. This is so big because we found a lot of substances that we still have to determine kung anong klaseng mga drugs ito (what type of drugs are these),” Ross Jonathan Galicia of the NBI Task Force on Anti-Illegal Drugs said.

Loarca declined to comment on his arrest.

The NBI is currently looking into the suspect’s source of illegal drugs and his customers in Metro Manila. — Richa Noriega/VBL, GMA News
