Jayke Joson files cyber libel raps vs. Annabelle Rama
Jayke Joson, Manny Pacquiao's former aide, filed a cyber libel complaint against talent manager Annabelle Rama after the latter called him a "thief."
Joson on Tuesday lodged the case before the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Special Project Team, headed by Attorney Emeterio Dongallo.
In a phone interview with GMA News Online, Dongallo confirmed that Joson's camp sued the talent manager.
"Na-file na po kahapon mga 4 p.m. Ganoong oras. Nagpunta sila kahapon. (They filed it yesterday at 4 p.m. They went here yesterday.)," he said.
But Dongallo refused to give further comments on the issue as they are already conducting a probe into the filed complaint.
In an earlier press conference at the NBI, Joson's lawyer Larry Gadon revealed that the complaint stemmed from posts published on Rama's Instagram account.
"Magpafile kami ng complaint ni Jayke Joson against Annabelle Rama dahil sa mga sinabi ni Annabelle Rama sa Instagram and Twitter account na sinasabi niya na si Jayke ay isang alalay lamang at magnanakaw ng pera ni Manny Pacquiao," Gadon had said.
(We will file a complaint against Rama because of what she said on her Instagram and Twitter account against Joson. She said Joson is just an assistant who stole Pacquiao's money.)
Gadon also said Rama cannot refute her statements because it was already posted on social media and by mainstream media.
"Matapos ito malabas sa media ay hindi naman niya ito nirefute. Talagang malinaw na statements niya galing sa kanya. Statements niya would qualify as libel at cyber bullying," said controversial lawyer Gadon.
(After this was published in the media, she cannot refute this. her statements were clear.)
GMA News Online reached out to Rama over the cyberlibel suit but she has yet to respond.
In an Instagram post, Rama shared a photo of her with the Filipino boxing icon, writing a long post against a certain "alalay (assistant)."
"Dinedeny mo hindi ka kumupit sa pera ni MP? Bayaran mo, bayaran mo, pag nagkita tayo sapakin ko yung ulo mo," she said, citing Pacquiao's initials.
(You are denying that you did not steal money from MP? Pay it, pay the money so that when we meet I will hit you in the head.)
Pacquiao had revealed that they plan to file charges against Joson for accusing him of claiming at least P165 million advance payment for a supposed boxing match against Connor McGregor.
Pacquiao's camp further said Joson's claims were "fabricated," adding that the latter will face cases of cyber libel, estafa, syndicated estafa.—LDF, GMA News
