NCR now at low-risk for COVID-19, says OCTA

The National Capital Region (NCR) is now classified as low risk for COVID-19, OCTA Research said Tuesday in its latest report.

In a disclaimer, the group said the findings do not necessarily reflect the official position of the affiliated institutions of the authors as well as the Department of Health (DOH), the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF), and local government units.

This was after the DOH, on Monday, announced that the entire Philippines is now considered low risk for COVID-19.

According to the independent monitoring group, the positivity rate in NCR decreased to 6% while the average daily attack rate decreased to less than 7 per 100,000 individuals.

The seven-day average in the region also decreased to 901 from 1,405, OCTA said.

Meanwhile, healthcare utilization rate decreased to 35% while the intensive care unit occupancy rate was recorded at 46%.

According to OCTA, only Mandaluyong, San Juan, and Valenzuela remain at moderate risk for COVID-19 in the region due to an ADAR higher than 10.

Valenzuela recorded the highest ADAR at 11.15, San Juan at 10.57, and Mandaluyong at 10.50.

The remaining local government units were classified as low-risk.

Meanwhile, Pateros recorded the highest ICU occupancy rate at 75%, marking it at high risk, followed by a moderate risk 61% ICU occupancy rate in Makati City.

As of October 25, the Philippines has recorded 2,761,307 COVID-19 cases, of which 57,763 are active. —KBK, GMA News
