Makati LGU probes 'Air Binay' shoes sold in Saudi Arabia mall
The Makati City government on Monday has announced that an investigation is underway over a report the shoes that resemble "Air Binay" sneakers that were procured in 2019 are being sold in Saudi Arabia.
On Facebook, the city government said the supposed AB 3.0 sneakers being sold in a certain mall in Saudi Arabia were not owned by the government.
"This is not related in any way to the city government of Makati and Department of Education-Makati. We are currently contacting our manufacturers and suppliers to further investigate the matter," read Makati LGU's statement.
The Air Binay shoes were free and given to public school students in Makati City.
Further, the city government warned against the use of the Makati City seal without authorization.
"We warn individuals and groups that there are legal actions in the unauthorized use of Makati City seal, as we commit to serve the #ProudMakatizens with transparency," it added.
