NCR residents flock to churches, dolomite beach on first Sunday under Alert Level 3
More residents of the National Capital Region went out of their homes on the first Sunday of Alert Level 3, going to churches and visiting the dolomite beach at the Baywalk by the Manila Bay.
At the St. Peter Parish: Shrine of Leaders on Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City, parishioners attended Mass, prayed, and lit candles, according to a report by Mark Makalalad on Dobol B TV.
The church implements a "no face mask/no face shield, no entry" policy.
A COVID-19 marshal goes around to remind parishioners to observe health and safety protocols.
Under Alert Level 3, in-person religious gatherings are allowed up to 30% indoor capacity for fully vaccinated individuals, and up to 50% outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees are fully vaccinated.
Dolomite beach
Meanwhile, at the dolomite beach at the Baywalk beside Manila Bay, visitors gathered early at the gate, according to a report by Luisito Santos on Dobol B TV.
Although the dolomite beach is supposed to open at 8 a.m., the gate was opened as early as 6 a.m. to accommodate those wanting to check out the attraction.

More visitors were observed on Sunday as compared to Saturday when the dolomite beach was first reopened to the public.

Swimming is not allowed, but some visitors could not help but dip their feet in the waters.

The dolomite beach is open from 8 to 11 a.m., and again from 2 to 6 p.m.
Marshals constantly remind visitors to observe physical distancing, wear face masks, and not to bring home dolomite.

Exercise
Meanwhile, residents also went to Marikina River Park early Sunday to enjoy the sunny weather outdoors and exercise, according to a report by Mark Makalalad on Dobol B TV.

Fitness enthusiasts also went to the road dike at Batasan in Quezon City to exercise outdoors, according to Makalalad's post on Twitter.

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Wednesday approved the recommendation to place NCR under Alert Level 3 beginning October 16, 2021 until October 31, 2021.
Under Alert Level 3, visitor or tourist attractions such as libraries, archives, museums, galleries, exhibits, parks, plazas, public gardens, scenic viewpoints or overlooks, and the like; and amusement parks or theme parks are allowed to operate at 30% indoor venue capacity only for fully vaccinated individuals and 50% outdoor venue capacity, provided that all employees are fully vaccinated. —KG, GMA News
