Minor killed in Tondo riot —cops


A pre-dawn riot between feuding youth groups in Tondo, Manila left a 14-year-old boy dead on Thursday, according authorities.

An Unang Balita report on Friday by Jonathan Andal said that the 14-year old victim was hit by a pen gun at the height of the rumble.

An initial police investigation showed that the riot occurred at about 4:30 a.m. on Abad Santos Avenue in Tondo.

A scene of the riot was caught on CCTV camera placed in the Abad Santos area.

According the to police, the victim, who they said was 14 years of age, was rushed for treatment, but died before reaching a nearby hospital.

Authorities have held a 19-year-old suspect, who denied that he was involved in Thursday's riot.

A police investigation into the incident is ongoing. —LBG, GMA News
