Pedestrians worried over wobbly footbridge along Commonwealth

Several pedestrians are worried over the wobbly footbridge near Philcoa along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City.

According to a report on "24 Oras" on Thursday, people using the structure can feel it shake especially when there is strong wind.

"'Pag dumadaan ako, lagi ako sa gilid para hindi ko nafi-feel na umuuga. Baka po biglang mag-collapse," one of the pedestrians said.

Residents said the foot bridge began to shake after the government began the construction of the Metro Rail Transit in the area.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority already sent engineers to inspect the area.

"Ngayon pa lang ipinapamadali ko na ito. Importante 'yan. Kailangang maaksyunan kaagad," MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos said. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LDF, GMA News
