Over 3,000 Caloocan residents receive gifts from GMA Kapuso Foundation on Mel Tiangco's birthday

Over 3,000 residents of Barangay 162 in Sta. Quiteria, Caloocan City received gifts from the GMA Kapuso Foundation as Mel Tiangco celebrated her birthday on Tuesday.

According to a report on "24 Oras," the beneficiaries received Kapuso loaded grocery packs, hygiene kits, donuts, processed meats, lugaw and champorado kits, and bread.

Inspired by Tiangco, purok leader Remedios Melgar volunteered her services when she heard that the Kapuso Foundation will distribute aid in their area.

"Masarap pong tumulong sa kapwa kasi po nakikita ko po kay Ma'am Mel Tiangco, pumupunta sa mga liblib na lugar. Kahit hindi po sa pamamagitan ng pera ay kaya po nating magsilbi sa ating kapwa," she said.

("It feels great to help others because I see Ma'am Mel Tiangco, she goes to far-flung areas. Even if we can't help financially, we can still be of service to our fellowmen.")

Barangay Captain Ronald Nagusara expressed gratitude on behalf of his constituents.

"Maligawayang kaarawan po para sa inyo, Ma'am. Sa birthday niya siya po ang nagbibigay ng regalo para sa mga kagaya namin," he said.

("Happy birthday, Ma'am. On her birthday, she's the one who gives gifts for us.")

GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP/COO Rikki Escudero-Catibog also thanked Tiangco for her guidance and inspiration.

"On your birthday I just wanna say happy birthday and many more years with GMA Kapuso Foundation, we love you," she said.

"Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nagpaabot ng pagbati sa aking espesyal na araw," Tiangco said after the report.

("Thank you to everyone to sent their greetings on my special day.")
