Preemptive evacuation implemented in 8 QC barangays

The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO) has implemented the preemptive evacuation of residents in eight barangays as floodwater levels continue to rise due to incessant heavy rains.

The affected barangays are the following:

• Barangay Apolonio Samson - Apolonio Elementary School
• Barangay Dona Imelda - Malangen Hall Lupon Building
• Barangay Bagong Silangan - Bagong Silangan Covered Court
• Barangay Tatalon - Doctor Josefa Jara Martinez High School
• Barangay Roxas - Roxas Covered Court
• Barangay Batasan Hills - Freedom Park
• Barangay Masambong - Tennis Court
• Barangay Sta. Monica - Lydia Covered Court, Sitio Aguardiente

As of 11pm, PAGASA in its latest Severe Weather Bulletin, the southwest monsoon continues to be enhanced by Typhoon Fabian bringing monsoon rains to Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

Residents are advised to monitor weather updates as well as the announcements of the Quezon City government through its social media accounts.
