Medical schools in Manila allowed to conduct face-to-face classes
President Rodrigo Duterte has approved the holding of limited face-to-face classes in schools offering courses on medicine and allied health sciences located in areas under general community quarantine and MGCQ earlier this year.
According to a report on “Balitanghali” on Thursday, four medical schools in Manila were already allowed to conduct limited physical classes and clerkship.
Here is the list of schools that have been approved by the Manila City government:
- Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Manila College of Medicine
- Metropolitan Medical Center College of Arts Sciences and Technology
- Chinese General Hospital Colleges
- Manila Theological College College of Medicine
On Tuesday, the Senate also adopted a resolution recommending the resumption of face-to-face classes in the country by immediately launching the pilot testing of localized limited physical classes.
Under Senate Resolution 663, the pilot testing in localized limited face-to-face classes will be launched in low-risk areas as identified by the Department of Education under risk-based assessment.
The pilot testing will also be conducted following stringent mitigation measures, strict health protocols, and guidelines set by the Department of Health and the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Disease.
Meanwhile, the DepEd said students who will participate in the proposed pilot testing of face-to-face classes will only have to go to school for half a day.—Ma. Angelica Garcia/AOL, GMA News
