Cops nab 2 men on most wanted lists in Calabarzon, Iligan
Authorities have arrested two men included in the list of most wanted persons in the Calabarzon Region and in Iligan City.
In a statement, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police Debold Sinas said suspect Lersan Odon, who used the aliases Michael Odon and Maymay, was arrested in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro on Wednesday at 9:20 p.m.
Odon was the sixth most wanted by the CALABARZON regional police, and is the subject of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 153 in Biñan, Laguna on November 23, 2018 for murder.
According to their initial investigation, Odon fled to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro and used the fake name "Zander Rivera Odon" and worked as a backhoe operator at the Busuanga River Quarry in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
Odon was already arrested on November 11, 2020 for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. Upon inspection, authorities found out that the name "Xander Rivera Odon" used by the suspect was fraudulent.
The Provincial Intelligence Team in Occidental Mindoro conducted an operational research, leading to the identification of Odon as the jailed Xander Rivera Odon.
Odon is under the custody of the Magbay Provincial Jail for proper documentation and disposition.
Meanwhile, Chavez, with an alias of “Dodong Puti,” was nabbed in a manhunt operation at Purok 11, Poblacion, Ramon Magsaysay on Thursday at 3 a.m.
Chavez is the Top 7 Most Wanted Person of Iligan City Police Office, and is the subject of arrest warrant issued by the Regional Trial Court of Lanao del Norte, 12th Judicial Region, Branch 6, Iligan City on July 30, 2004 for the crime of murder.
Recovered from the suspect were one unit of .45 pistol, four magazines with loaded 16 rounds of .45 ammunition, one unit of converted .22 air rifle, one box of .22 super pellets, one unit of A7 Samsung cellphone, one unit of A9 Samsung cellphone and assorted IDs.
Chavez is a suspect in an alleged contract killing in December 2003. He was also said to be involved in gun-for-hire activities.
Chavez was brought to the Ramon Magsaysay Municipal Police Station for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. -MDM, GMA News
