NBI seizes drugs in kitchen utensil sets sold online

Authorities seized a yet undetermined amount of drugs that were hidden in dining utensil sets that were to be sold online in Cupang, Muntinlupa.

NBI Cavite District Office agents raided four condominium units in the said barangay, but found none of the suspects, according to a 24 Oras report by John Consulta on Tuesday.

However, the agents discovered various items sold in online shops, many of which were packed in boxes.

Upon inspection, they spotted sachets of marijuana or shabu inserted in suitcases containing gold-plated spoons and forks.

Another gold-plated suitcase containing sachets of marijuana was also recovered in a unit on the third floor of the establishment.

According to the NBI, the drugs were inserted in items so they could be secretly delivered to the suspects' customers.

NBI Cavite has been surveilling the activities of the online seller for two weeks.

Authorities are still determining the amount of drugs seized in the operation as they continue their follow-up operation on the drug gang using online selling as their cover. — Jamil Santos/DVM, GMA News
