Red Cross opens drive-thru saliva RT-PCR testing at SM Megamall, Mall of Asia
The Philippine Red Cross (PCR) on Tuesday opened a drive-thru collection site for saliva RT-PCR testing at the SM Megamall in Mandaluyong City.
According to Ivan Mayrina’s report on “24 Oras,” it is one of two collection sites for saliva testing, with the other station at the SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
“Kahit na kayo ay nabigyan na ng vaccine, testing is the key. We will never stop testing. That’s why iniisip namin lahat ang nang paraan,” PRC chairman Senator Richard Gordon said.
“Kaya kami naghanap sa buong mundo at nakita ko mayroon tayong nagagawa sa America na saliva test. At ‘yang saliva test napakdali,” he added.
Earlier, an employee underwent saliva testing for his company’s requirements. He said the saliva test was easier than a swab test.
“Mas madali pa, eh, kaysa doon sa swabbing. Kasi ‘yung swabbing masakit, eh. Mahal pa,” he said.
