2 nabbed illegally refilling LPG tanks in Quezon City
Twenty-five tanks of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) that were being refilled illegally were seized in a store in Commonwealth, Quezon City.
According to Darlene Cay’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the Quezon City Police District's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group conducted a buy-bust operation which resulted in the arrest of two suspects.
“May complaint po kasi kaming natanggap from Petron Gas Corporation na ‘yong product po nila, nirereklamo nila na ginagamit ‘yong gasul nila sa ibang company so nag-conduct kami ng buy-bust ayon sa reklamo nila sa area na sinasabi nila,” Police Captain Edwin Fuggan said.
Fuggan said the suspects buy LPG tanks, refill them illegally, then sell them for a cheaper price.
“‘Yong seal ng gas ay hindi po sa kanila galing. Naptunayan po ‘yong mga nakuhang gasul ay lahat po ay fake po lahat,” he said.
Fuggan warned that illegally refilled tanks are dangerous and may cause leaks.
“Magtodo ingat po tayo. Alamin po natin kung ‘yong produktong binibili natin ay legit po at pumapasa sa standard,” he said. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
