Muntinlupa fire leaves 300 families homeless
Fire destroyed over a hundred houses in Muntinlupa City at past midnight Thursday, leaving some 300 families -- who were recovering from Typhoon Ulysses' floods in mid-November -- homeless.
GMA News' Corinne Catibayan reported Friday on "Unang Balita" that the fire struck houses along Ilaya Street in the city's Barangay Alabang, a few minutes after midnight.
Fire officials said narrow streets caused delays in the entry of firetrucks into the area where houses were burning.
No fatality was reported but two people were wounded during the fire incident with an estimated damage of about P1 million.
Bureau of Fire Protection officials told GMA News that a fire out was declared shortly before 3 a.m.
Victims are temporarily staying in a covered court and at the Alabang Elementary School building. —LBG, GMA News.
