Marikina’s clearing ops after Ulysses get boost from construction firms

The Marikina City government’s clean up operations of main roads following the onslaught of Typhoon Ulysses received a boost from construction firms part of the Philippine Constructors Association (PCA).

Over the weekend, the PCA Task Force Rolly + Ulysses helped in clearing operations in Marikina to clean up streets rendered impassable by debris and mud left behind by flood waters.

PCA members lent around 50 units of equipment and manpower to operate the machines to Marikina.

“We saw the people rejoicing when we arrived at the areas for clearing. They were really happy to see the back hoe and other equipment coming in,” PCA Task Force Chairman Jerry Pancho said in a statement.

Equipment for clearing operations were also brought to Bulacan to remove trees felled by the storm.

The PCA is also set to deliver construction materials and relief goods to residents whose houses were damaged in Cagayan Valley.
