Barangay chair's taxis found to be illegally parked on Manila road

As road clearing operations resumed with the gradual reopening of the economy amid the pandemic, several motorists found their cars flagged for double roadside parking in Manila.

According to Mark Salazar’s “24 Oras” report on Tuesday, cars and workshops for vehicles are no longer allowed on sidewalks.

In Barangay 251, Chairman Rene Angat's  taxi fleet were among the vehicles found to be illegally parked on the road.

“E kasi ano ngayon e, hindi nakakabiyahe mga taxi dahil ‘yung mga hindi pa binibigyan ng prangkisa. E ‘yung mga driver, ayaw naman iuwi sa kanila. Ano’ng gagawin natin,” he said.

Luckily for the barangay chairman, he got off with a warning after authorities ran out of wheel clamps. Julia Mari Ornedo/DVM, GMA News
