LRT-1 coach emits smoke at Gil Puyat station, passengers evacuated
A wagon of the Light Rail Transit-1 emitted smoke at Gil Puyat Station on Friday afternoon, leading to the evacuation of its passengers.
In a video by YouScooper Anne Dimco, passengers were seen evacuating the LRT-1 wagon at 2 p.m.
The wagon was approaching Baclaran Station when the incident happened, according to a DZBB report by Olan Bola.

In a series of tweets, the Light Rail Manila Corporation, the management of the LRT-1, said the technical issue was due to a catenary fault located between Gil Puyat and Vito Cruz stations.
Its Engineering Team has since been deployed, but the LRT-1 had limited train operations as of 2:18 p.m. with trains only running from Central to Balintawak and vice versa.
UPDATE: As of 2:07 PM, November 6, 2020- ?? A stop for safety has been put in place from Baclaran to Balintawak. Technician is already on board to check the catenary fault located between G. Puyat & V. Cruz stations. Please allow additional travel time of about 15 minutes ??

The assessment and repair may take a few hours, but our team is working as fast we can to resolve the issue.
