Fire hits residential area in Las Piñas City
Fire broke out at a residential area in Barangay Zapote, Las Piñas City on Saturday morning, engulfing a market and a cockpit.
The fire hit the Basa Dos Compound at past 10 a.m., according to a report by Mao Dela Cruz on Dobol B sa News TV.
The fire quickly spread and emitted black smoke as the houses were allegedly made of light materials.
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, as well as the casualties.
The fire reached the fifth alarm at 11:30 a.m. as it spread to a market and a cockpit.
Firefighters cautiously climbed up the roofs of some houses in order to reach the affected area.
The Bureau of Fire Protection-National Capital Region raised the Task Force Alpha alarm at 11:34 a.m.
