Parts of two barangays in QC on lockdown starting July 21


Some areas in two barangays in Quezon City were placed under special concern lockdown starting Tuesday, July 21, due to the high number and clustering of COVID-19 cases.

In Barangay Baesa, the areas under lockdown are portions of Alley 2 and Alley 3 on Howmart Road, according to a report on GMA News' Unang Balita on Wednesday.

A resident in this particular area tested positive for COVID-19 via rapid test.

His companions at a drinking session and other close contacts need to undergo testing as well.

Barangay chairperson Lottie Gemma Dimatulac Juan also tested positive for COVID-19.

The barangay has already given food packs to affected residents.

Meanwhile, also placed under lockdown starting Tuesday is No. 8A Mariveles Street in Barangay Sta. Teresita.

The lockdown is also ongoing in the following areas as previously announced by the city government:

  • Loans St., Alley 4, in Sangandaan
  • FVR Building along Guirayan Street in Dona Imelda
  • Fatima St. cor. Liwanag in San Vicente 
  • 14G Maayusin Ext. in San Vicente
  • Maparaan St. to 87 Kalayaan St. in Central
  • Ruby Stone HOA in Kaligayahan
  • 127 Rebisco Road in Nagkaisang Nayon 
  • Sitio Ruby in Fairview
  • 5A Cenacle Compound in Culiat
  • Mariveles St.  in Paang Bundok
  • 238 Mayon Ave. in Maharlika

 

As of Tuesday, July 21, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Quezon City based on Department of Health's figures is 5,304.

Those with complete addresses number 5,229, while 5,204 have been validated by the QC Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit and District Health Offices.

The number of active COVID-19 cases is 2,087.

Recoveries totaled 2,845 while the death toll is at 272.
