Manila to lift liquor ban on June 8

Manila will lift its liquor ban effective on Monday, June 8, Mayor Isko Moreno announced on Sunday.

“In line with the policy of the national government to relax certain stringent measures, there is now a need to lift the alcohol/liquor ban imposed in the city,” Moreno said citing Executive Order No. 2020-026.

Moreno, however, said selling of alcoholic drinks and beverages to minors and drinking in public places remain prohibited.

Moreno imposed the liquor ban on March 28 to prevent mass gatherings amid the COVID-19 pandemic. —Ma. Angelica Garcia/LBG, GMA News
